I’m not entirely surprised by this story. The image quality delivered by most of today’s high end mobile phones surpasses that of five year old semi-professional DSLRs that cost 10 times as much and weighed at least 10 times more. Ultimately, the best camera is the one you have with you – and use. Over the years, there have been umpteen times when I’ve missed a great shot just because I couldn’t be bothered/didn’t have time to take out my camera from its dedicated bag. Fortunately, sensor technology is allowing for smaller, pocketable cameras like the new Canon G7X to take commercially viable images. And I’m sure that my next book will have a few images taken with the formidable iPhone 6.
