Swedish High School Graduation Celebrations

One of Sweden’s wildest, loudest, and most joyful traditions is back on the streets today here in Göteborg. Shot these scenes in downtown Göteborg this afternoon, where I captured some of the annual “studentflak” celebration — where high school seniors ride around town in decorated trucks, blasting music, honking horns, dancing, and toasting their graduation. Girls in white dresses, guys in suits or blazers, waving banners, throwing confetti, and marking the end of mandatory school with pure euphoria. It’s chaotic, proud, and so very Swedish ‍ After the wild ride, most graduation students return home where friends and family await to give presents and hugs. We were at one wonderful graduation reception yesterday, and there will be one again today before we head back home to Malmö tomorrow afternoon.
