The Gothic stone church, Saint Preimskirche Kirche in the ski and spa resort, Bad Gastein in Austria

Saint Preimskirche

After a sumptuous dinner at one of Bad Gastein’s classic eateries, Silver Bullit, last night, I walked through town to find a good spot where I could capture the Gothic church, St. Preimskirche Kirche. This alpine house of worship is situated above the old hydroelectric power plant, aptly named “Kraftwerk” (thanks to the adjacent waterfall, it’s now a scenic, albeit somewhat noisy, restaurant/café). The church’s majestic architecture is beautifully framed by the surrounding mountains and forest gorge below, which we hiked through the other day.
