I spotted this ridiculously photogenic parrot while wandering around a tiny island in the Maldives. It’s a Blue-and-yellow Macaw (Ara ararauna), originally from the rainforests of South America. What it was doing in the Maldives?

No idea.

My best guess is it escaped from a private aviary, took one look at the turquoise water, beaches, and breeze, and thought, “Fly back to the jungle? Nah. I’m staying. Pass the coconut.”
