I captured this hurried flamingo in the Camargue wetlands near the Étang de Vaccarès in the south of France. There were hundreds of these delicate birds in a large saltwater lagoon near the Rhône River delta, between the Mediterranean Sea and the city of Arles. It’s known for its unique biodiversity, including the iconic Camargue horses.
