About Creativity

– Painting is one of several ways for me to express myself creatively. I feel lucky to be able to change mediums and know how to bridge them.

– When the creative journey is interesting and the results are engaging, I’m happy. If someone then buys what I’ve made, that’s frosting on the cake.

– Every medium has its virtues and limitations. Painting was the very first way I expressed my creativity, and it’s been a trusty fallback ever since.

– When I’m able to express ideas or unfiltered emotions, regardless of the creative tool, I often feel euphoric and shed tears of joy.

– Averting creative complacency is hard. I try to integrate honesty, invite serendipity, and embrace the inherent chaos in my creative process.

– Creativity is both a blessing and a curse. I love the drama, the tumult, the sense of achievement. I just don’t always know when to quit or give up.

– Making art that exists in the physical world, like a painting, adds a sense of purpose that I rarely experience in front of a computer screen.

– Since online recognition defines so much of artistic success today, being a hostage to chronic creativity can be both impeding and daunting.

About Art

Art is a universal language that transcends borders, cultures, and religions. It connects people across time and generations. Abstract art, in particular, challenges conventions and celebrates the unpredictable chaos of life. It invites us to embrace ambiguity and discover beauty in the abstract and untamed.

From Kandinsky’s bold brushstrokes to Rothko’s immersive color fields, abstract art pushes boundaries and guides us into the unknown, where creativity thrives.

Like Vincent van Gogh, whose impressionist work communicated through vibrant colors and broad, emotive strokes, non-figurative art speaks directly to the soul, bypassing the need for literal interpretation.

Art whispers to the subconscious, encouraging us to find our own meanings. It’s a sanctuary of creative freedom beyond the reaches and constraints of figurative art.

FILM PROJECTS

Regardless of the medium, I’m passionate about telling stories that resonate, express emotion, and, hopefully, conjure a lasting feeling. Over the last three decades, I’ve produced many short films for art projects, as well as editorial and commercial films commissioned by companies and organizations.

Film can be such a powerful, multisensory way to communicate. Fortunately, the art filmmaking has become increasingly accessible and affordable. That said, storytelling is not so much about the hardware or software – it’s more about striking a balance and finding the right recipe to convey the story in a way that captivates and connects with the audience on the right level.
